Vijay Diwas

Vijay Diwas (Victory Day) is commemorated every 16 December in India as it marks its military victory over Pakistan in 1971 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The end of the war also resulted in the unilateral surrender of the Pakistan Army and subsequent secession of East Pakistan into Bangladesh.

All indian gave it's credits ti Mrs.Indira gandhi, and of course credits goes to her ! but the real hero of that war is Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji    Manekshaw, MC "Sam Bahadur"

Indiara want war in early days of 1971 but Sam not agree with her, we all know that Indira gandhi was a rude lady but sam not agree due to it's agriculture saeson on punajb and hariyana , if war done in march than farmes have to loss many things and fianly Indiara became agree with sam !

(Hands of man and the tears of the woman can do all things possible , but in this case sam won )

some quotes by sam :-

On being asked by Indira Gandhi if he was ready to fight on the eve of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971: “I am always ready, sweetie."[17]

About the Gurkha: "If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or is a Gurkha."[2]

his last word of life is : I am OK !

we can call sam - the chankya of 20th century !!!
There are three person in India who got 5 star rank ;-

1.Sam Manekshaw
2.Kodandera Madappa Cariappa
3.Arjan Singh ( air force )

2.Kodandera Madappa Cariappa

now,on Field Marshal Kodandera "Kipper" Madappa Cariappa ,His distinguished military career spanned almost three decades, at the highest point of which, he was appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Military in 1949.

During the 1965 war, his son, an Indian Air Force pilot, was shot down over Pakistan. He was captured and imprisoned as a POW. When Ayub Khan learned about this, he informed Cariappa he would not be kept in a POW Camp like other Indian POWs, since they had worked together before independence. But Cariappa politely declined the offer, saying every soldier in the Indian Army was his son, so he could not request special privileges for only one.

(ayub khan and karippa worked togather  before 1947 , during the war they are the head of two different country )

Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC (14 October 1950 - 16 December 1971) born in Pune, Maharashtra, was an officer of the Indian Army and a posthumous recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration for valour in face of the enemy.

He is the youngest name recipient of this award ! @ age of 21 years
His father M. L. Khetarpal was serving in the Indian Army and his family traced a long history of service.

But here want to share one story about M.L.khetrapal , he is also army man , he went Pakistan as delegates from India and talked with other officials of Pakistan , there he met one high command Pakistani army officer, he lived with him more than 7 days and on the Return  at airport the Pakistani officers said to M.L .khetrapal : I am going to say a very BHAYANKAR truth , your son is shoot by my tank , he is at 100m distance from me at war, it’s fix to death of your son or me at that time and unfortunately your son died their ! I never seen such brave man in my whole military career , but the more interesting thing is the reply of M.L.Khetrapal , this is our duty and you played it ! and he took smile photograph with tht army officials at airport !

Only Indian Army man can dare to do it !
