The 1991 And 2014 General Election

Youth-born after 1991 + Social media + Middle class

In August 1947 India got Independence but Economic independence achieved on July 1991 , but yet to get social and political independence .

Indian politics became the Family business , it’s hard OR nearly Impossible for young man to enter politics without having any family background .

Nearly 29% of the MPs are hereditary MPs ! Hereditary MPs are about 4 times richer than those who have no family background in politics.! Hope you remember victory of Dimple yadav – Unopposed won from kanaur,UP

But coming 2013/14  General Election is hope for all , it may change the prevailing working politics style.

There are 3 major aspect of 2014 General election :-
1.First time voter – Born after 1991
2.Social media
3.Rise of Middle class

All these 3 factors deeply related to the 1991 -

Liberalisation's children :-

Gurucharan das define these as : A generation who don’t pay bribe for Telephone connection and dial tone , this explained their impatience with corruption in other area.

Those born in or after July 1991 – the post-liberalisation generation – were still below 18 during the May 2009 Lok Sabha election. They will vote for the first time in 2014. Those born between 1991 and 1996 (aged between 23 and 18 in 2014) represent an estimated 110 million new voters of the nearly 800 million voters who will be eligible to vote in 2014.

For these youth : Meaning of Government is Much more than Bijali, sadak , pani . they filed RTIs , Rise voice against corruption , Participate in Anna aandolan, read reports of government, criticize government for policy  and much much
impatient for Making India shine.

Indian politics always dominated by caste politics but these young educate liberalized child may change this .

This is the generation whose Role model are Ambani , Aamir khan , Sachin tendulakar , Kejarival etc instead of Naheru,Gandhi and Bose.

This is the generation who Want to work in private instead of Government jobs, wan to make future on own capability instead of Seniority based system of Government .

Rise of Middle class :-

After caste , the second major factor who govern Indian politics is Middle class and their demands, this is the class whose voting percentage always high and also dynamic , they do vote by keeping all current ad pas situation in mind.

A voter with a very modest income will vote differently if he cares more about the quality of schooling his children get rather than the subsidy on his cooking gas.

Rising incomes usually give people space to think about the future. They begin to ask tough questions about governance.

In 1950 middle class less than 2% of population up to 1980 it’s grown up to just 8% in 30 years , which consisting the government job , today middle class strength increase to more than 25% .

In 2012 Gujarat election : NArendra modi make famous one word “
neo middle class” , which include recent beneficiaries of economic growth who are moving into an urban life and rising up the income ladder

Social media :-

A powerful  all weather  tool – providing  24*7  facility for Election campaign throughout year .

A recent report by Iris Knowledge Foundation showed that 160 out of 453 Lok Sabha constituencies are likely to be highly influenced by social media in the 2014 general election, since at least one-tenth of the voting population in these constituencies use Facebook and Twitter. Another 67 constituencies will see a medium impact.

The wall street journal wrote :

As India enters election mode, social media has become one of many platforms where possible prime ministerial candidates are being scrutinized.

On top of the list are Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi, who recently acquired the Twitter monikers #Pappu (“naïve”) and #Feku (“boastful”), respectively, following a string of public appearances observers saw as evidence they will be leading their respective parties in the upcoming national election.
And all politician now realized this fact. After once promising to 'abolish' computers, now a Mulayam screensaver in the free laptops being given to students by his son – Akhilesh yadav .

In Gujarat 2012 election, Modi ( BJP ) had a full fleged working people for online campain.

All in this 3 factor one thing is common and it’s 1991 economic
 Liberalisation.

It open the entry of Computers In india , open telecom for global players, technology come in India and  as stated upper the rise of Middle class is mailny due to the economic Liberalisation.

And main credit of this go to the current Prime minister Man mohan singh .

HE is the man who chage the economic scenario of country and plan Liberalisation but it seems that this “Liberalisation’s Generation will change Manmohan singh”

If u can't "change" the Leader, then' change the "Leader "

I am Proud to be a call a Liberalisation’s child !
