Politics of the International Aid : Decoded

Since 1980  there is debate about the political and ethical development of the all part of the world.

Aid is not new term in international politics , countries gave low interest loans(as aid) to others but in that case there is interest of the lender country in that.  As example , the loan in reply to make market open for the product of the lender country But in case of the ethical aid country give loan for the poverty eradication , education and health on the ground of the Humanitarian help.

Musical Concert to rise fund for AIDS , Friendly football matches to help flood victims , Millennium development goals etc. are the example of the ethical aid.

Reason Which Support Aid :-

• Doctrine of the Human Rights : Universal Acceptance of the Third generation rights – Solidarity rights ( which include the Clean environment , Peace for all , self determination etc.)  became important . Under developed  country have not money to spend for this Rights so Developed countries have to came out to help underdeveloped.

• Colonization and Neo Colonization :- Colonization during 18^th and 19^th century make the European countries richer by drain of wealth form their colonies and After WW2  Neo colonization (Western country Guided the policy of the others)  Make West richer.  So the Northern development happened on the cost beard by the south and it’s moral duty of west to help south.

International Aid – A myth :-

• Most of countries failed to get the target set by the Brandt committee in which all developed counties have to Give 1% of their National income to Aid to Under developed countries.

• Most of Such Aid Given  by the religious trust , NGOs , Private people Rather then the Government Aid.

• Aid Given in form of the Food to the Poor country is  actually a Food dumping , Which help the farmers of the lender country (As get more price) and Loss to the Farmers of the borrower country as the values of the Grain down due to the High Supply.

Objection to the Aid :-

• It promote the interdependence , though North give Aid of $580Millions to the African countries in last four decade but not  resulted in any increase of the per capita income.

• A Lack of accountability in lead to increase the Corruption , Aid misused by the elite group and can not reach to the needy.
