Why the people turned into mob ?

Communal Riots have the Long history in India. There are number of the survey , studies , thesis , reports etc written on this. It’s total waste of time to write anther post on this but I write this cause the Most of people think that Political parties organized this riots to serve their political purposes. This is the common perception and Politics is about perception. There is nothing wrong in this approach but this Approach exaggerated the potential of the political parties on which I am not agree.

Just yesterday , Hridesh joshi ( NDTV) Tweeted : “दंगे होते नहीं, संगठित तरीके से करवाये जाते हैं (पॉल ब्रास, इतिहासकार). यूपी में पिछले कुछ सालों से यही दिख रहा है.” It’s wrong for me to make comment on the book which I not read yet but I am surely disagree with this approach.

If You believe that Political parties organized the Riots , then you Shall (Must) have answer the question how the Simple and Polite people converted into Desperate and cruel mob ? Can political speeches and Whatsup video have this potential to convert them into Polite to cruel in one day ? It’s Futile to Think that Any political party or Organization have such capability.

Answers of these question Perfectly given by the Analysis of the Asghar ali engineer Approach , In which he postulate that the Socio economic Restrain in developing countries takes the Form of the communal riots. He also Gave some Examples :-

1.      The fight between the Shivaji-Aurangzeb was not the Communal fight but it’s feudal in nature.

2. The theory of the Two state nation and separate Pakistan was Supported by the only elite muslim as they have to faced the Economic competition form the Hindus. In fact the Muslim who opted to live in India are mainly poor mulsim as they have not to compete with the Hindus in India.

3.   The Moradabad riots in 1980s also have the Economic constrains – The Muslim entered in the Business of the Brass trade which dominated by hindu.

I am not saying  that There is No role of the Politicians in the riots , In fact I believe that Political Person are the key player in the riots but they only play with the sentiments OR (Mis)use the Prevailing the socio economic constrain in society. They can not Have ability to develop that restrain over the night but In long term political parties through their policy can build up such constrains.

The riots have the similar mechanism that Earthquake have. EQ occurred when the Energy released from the lower strata of the Earth but this energy build up gradually due to the movement of the plate and Small cracks. Similarly the riots took place suddenly but it develop Gradually by the Under ground currents  and that are the socioeconomic restrains.

I saw the Gujarat Riots of the 2002, I belong ( home town)  to the Visanagar where the Biggest incident  of the Dipla Darawaja took place in which court convicted 21 people to life prison. It’s true that the Many political person involved and convicted in the case but the Incident was not sudden it’s Gradual developed due to the appeasement policy that previous govt. adopted to appease the muslim vote bank. Hindu Can not Celebrate the Rathyatra peacefully and without curfew since 1992 in town . There was also some group rivalry due to the Increasing Urbanization and narrowing streets etc. The riots was only the symptom and that  provide the exit way to the sentiments developed over the time.

You can call the person ( me)  A communal person  who try to justify the Riots as the result of the appeasement but the appeasement is the reality of the politics. Appeasement not only reason for the communal crisis but also class , caste crisis. Just Take case of the Recent Patidar agitation for the OBC status in Gujarat, It’s Nothing but the result of the appeasement policy that BJP adopted to spread his Political bases in Gujarat.

Just in summary – How Appeasement of the BJP develop patidar agitation ? Patel Are the Main ( May be only in some area ) vote bank of the BJP In Gujarat. To spread the vote bank BJP start to giving Space to dalit and tribal in Their policy after 2012 assembly election. BJP celebrate the 15^th August , 26^th January functions in such area. The result clearly seen in the 2014 general election result that BJP won 26/26 loksbha seat in Gujarat. No one in Gujarat Believe that BJP can ever win the win 2-3 seat dominate by minority in Gjuarat but it’s due to the Appeasement politics opted by the BJP. Patel felt cheated as BJP took vote form them and Work for other.

The Same Appeasement of the Samajwadi , Congress and BSP help the BJP to get 70/80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. As a “Aadarsh Liberal” you can blame the BJP for polarization but it’s Not ! It’s a Simple appeasement that united the Hindu section of society in favor of BJP.

I strongly Believe that It’s duty of the majority to secure the Rights of the minority but On other hand it’s Also Minority’s Duty to Give equal respect to the Tradition and Belief of the Majority.

( I don't know that weather this approach Have the answer of the Babri demolition or Not have the answer cause I am not aware about the Prevailing the socio economic conditions of the UP of that time , In First instance its seems the purely political Communal Riot)
