False Patriotism

We all Very well know about the term Patriotism . In our schools  a child gets lesson about patriotism well before the A,B,C,D. Patriotism is an emotional attachment to a nation.

What is False patriotism then ? A beautiful essay written by the Sri Aurobindo on this (Keep in mind - Sri Aurobindo considered as Hard core nationalist by the So call Hard core nationalist of today  ). Aurobindo was the Staunch supporter of the National Education and oppose the Western education. He said that National education is not to shift the ownership of schools to Indian form British. National education mean to adopt the syllabus that Familiar to the Indian condition and child can easily learn that. Though Aurobindo oppose the Western education , He Categorically said that : Western education made better progress in science than us and we should learn from that. Aurobindo said : If I talk only about the revive Nalanda and Glorify our past then it’s False patriotism.

Also During Swadeshi movement , He Indirectly said about the False patriotism- During Swadeshi movement , People Boycotted the foreign goods and Due to that the Business of the Indian Shop owners grow. At that time Aurobindo said that : It’s Indian business man Responsibility to provide the quality and Cheap Goods to customer else No one can force the consumer  to buy inferior quality goods on name of the Patriotism. Its false patriotism.

Patriotism is not only about to glorify your motherland but Patriotism is about to make your motherland better and Possibly Best.  Take Example – When Some Indian say that – India is one of the most corrupt state , That do not mean that He/She is Anti Indian. When You do not accept your mistake, How can you improve it ?  Following are the some example Where False patriotism work at their best :-

Lets start with the Indian Defense forces – Look , First Understand that Personnel of the Defense forces are also human being and They Also can do mistake , They Also lure by Money , They Also can cheat.  Corruption in the purchase of the Defense equipment is the Open secrete then also No one dare to talk on that as all fear of the Attack by the group of False patriotic. It’s True that Our soldiers fight on border for us but it’s also  true that The Higher rank officer made the Crores of Commission form the Arm deals. It’s True that Our Soldiers do nearly impossible task in Siachin and Thar desert but on other hand it’s also true that officer of the navy sell the secrete of force to enemy.

In addition take example of the one rank one pension ( OROP) . It’s May ( Or may not be) Genuine demand of the Soldiers but Citizen of India have right to Criticize it. OROP will lead the additional expenditure of the Thousands of crore annually and so Any citizen of India have right to Support or Criticize it. On twitter , I saw many people abused by the Group of false patriotic when they demand to give priority to farmers issue over OROP.

Secondly , About Our Freedom fighters –  There were number of ideology prevailed during Freedom movement. There were Gandhian , Socialist , Marxist , Revolutionary etc. Today, Political parties and also We the people of India Divide them on base of the State. I wrote earlier that : “ Political parties Use our founding father as Just dial – Kabhi bhi , Kahi bhi , kisi bhi kaam ke liye”. Look , They were leader and fight for the freedom but they also made mistakes. If you criticize any , a Group of False patriotic will attack you in seconds. Take Example of Ambedkar , He was architect of constitution , Great leader , social reformer and all but it’s also true that He was more loyal to british then Congress as he feared that Independence will shift power to upper caste hindu form white and there will be black future of dalits. Is there any Political party OR so call Nationalist have guts to openly said that : Ambedakar was more loyal to british then Congress ? Does any congressi have guts to say this ? NO ! Make Temple of Ambedkaar, Make world tallest status of Patel , Make Museum of Nehru – No problem but also keep guts to hear the criticism against them.

Anther play ground for the False patriotism is Jammu and Kashmir. J&K is Part of India as Gujarat and Maharastra is. To counter the Some Security related Problems , AFSPA imposed in state since last 2 decades. When a Section of Society complained About Misuse of the law by Army , A group of False patriotic abuse them. When You take proud of being citizen of the World biggest democracy and Do not give a citizen to right rise voice for his/her right , Sorry but it’s False patriotism.

Forth one is Judiciary. Judiciary is Just anther Institution just as Parliament, CAG  , Election commission and all. Though British left India in 1947 , Judges still live in Royal style. Our founding father made Check and balance for every institution and also Made every institution responsible but Today Judges appoint Judges and They are responsible to none. Judiciary became one of the most corrupt and It’s also a Open secrete but No one dare to speak against them. Why ? That I don’t know.

India is Intolerant , India is One of the most corrupt , Poverty Prevailing in India , Corruption prevail in Arm forces , Judges live the royal life style , Women felt insecure on street of India , India is Home of the Highest number of Mal nutrients  child in world and So on and on. You can portray  me Anti Nationalist but I taught that : To Short out problem, The first step is to accept that there is a problem. Don’t be Ahmed of saying that We are most corrupt state in world. When You accept this , You have scope to improve it.
