Sorry my dear Indian Media , I can not stand with you

In schools and Also in Later sphere of education , I taught to Quote Gandhiji to Get extra marks than others in exam and By doing so, I Became a Gandhian ( Not real one :P ) . So , Here I like to Quote Gandhiji on the role of Media :-

“In my humble opinion, it is wrong to use a newspaper as a means of earning a living. There are certain spheres of work which are of such consequence and have such bearing on public welfare that to undertake them for earning one's livelihood will defeat the primary aim behind them. When, further a newspaper is treated as a means of making profits, the result is likely to be serious malpractices. It is not necessary to prove to those who have some experience of journalism that such malpractices do prevail on a large scale. He was of the opinion, Newspapers are meant primarily to educate the people. They make the latter familiar with contemporary history. This is a work of no mean responsibility. It is a fact, however, that readers cannot always trust newspapers. Often facts are found to be quite the opposite of what has been reported. If newspapers realized that it was their duty to educate the people, they could not but wait to check a report before publishing it. It is true that  often they have to work under difficult conditions. They have to sift the true from the false in  a short time and can only guess at the truth. Even then, I am of the opinion that it is better not to publish a report at all if it has not been found possible to verify it”

Media ( Only some channels : Emphasize ) reported a Rally of the “So call” Journalist in the new Delhi . The Rally  organized to Oppose the event took place a day before in the campus of the Patiala court , Delhi. In that , Group of the lawyers ( Yet to prove) attacked on the some journalists.

Look , violence in any form is wrong and so the Mob attack on the journalist was also wrong. Even though I can not stand with the media and following are the reasons :-

My favorite  Ravish sir write this : डरा हुआ पत्रकार मरा हुआ नागरिक बनाता है. He is right on his side as Media Have an important role to play in society and also in Government. But I like to ask the (So call)  Journalists of today that : Are they fit in the definition of Media by Gandhiji ? Does Media Educating the people of India ? How the Horror scope , Saas bahu aur Sazish, Sona Hai to jag jayiye type shows educating us ? These channels are basically an Entertainment channels telecasted in slot of the News channels. When They are not a News or media or journalist – Why I to support them when every single day Thousands of people Beated by some mob in some part of country. Violence happening on name of the Caste , religion , sex etc on every single second in some part of country and No one from media have even time OR space to cover them , leave to issue of the stand up with them.

Here is Just a Example how , Media Educating us :-

This person think that – (1) Income tax is only tax (2) A researcher can not be 40 year old.

Secondly , Even if I Accept that these are the REALLY journalist and Media person , even then I have reason to not stand with their side. This Media covering the issue of the JNU 24*7 Since last 4-5 days , while No one have time to cover a Brutal repression by the Gujarat police on the Student of the Gujarat Technological university on it’s first ever convocation in year 2012. This show the Elite Character of the Media. It’s Human nature to behave in manner that : When I was in problem , You were not with me & Today You are in problem why You expect from me to give you a support ? Sorry , I can not.

Media person followed by the thousands and even many case by lakhs on twitter - tweeted about their rally but You all know how many form civil society join them ! No buddy! This is time for media to ask themselves about their role. I am aware about the Limitation of the media but than also if one want to do their job honestly there is huge scope for that and Many doing beautifully.

When person form media ( This is just example)  ask us to Join them I like to ask her/him/them  : When Media join us , Even cover our issues ? Media have time to cover the Break up of the Hritik – Susan but not Have time to Cover the suicide of the whole Farmer family. Have time cover the placement news of the IIMs but have no time to cover the suicide of educated unemployed boy  who take loan for his studies. Have time to cover the pathholes on road of delhi but have not time to cover the news that Thousands of village yet waiting for the road connectivity. Media have time to organised the Businessman of the year awards but no time to cover the issue of the Labours and farmers.

Though It seems extreme but I like to ask : What was so special in that where Advocated beat journalists ? Person from Media can reply in warning tone : If there is no free environment for journalist to work , no one will show their ( People)  issue. I like to ask Even today : who showing our issues ? 

It's My humble request to media person to ask support from IIM alumni , Hritik roshan , Businessman of the year and all those elite and Don't expect any support form Common person like me for their cause.
